Marcus Autism Center Telemedicine Program

Supporting care for treatment throughout Georgia

Marcus Autism Center is now working with Georgia Partnership for Telehealth to improve care in communities throughout Georgia. Using telemedicine, Marcus Autism Center is:

  • Increasing access to care.
  • Improving how quickly children can get care.
  • Educating community doctors.

Our doctors provide services to meet each child’s potential. Our goal is to help each child learn the skills to live a more independent life by working with families to develop goals.

Conditions

What conditions can be addressed through telemedicine?

  • Autism spectrum disorders
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
  • Communication disorders
  • Developmental delays
  • Maladaptive behaviors and other aberrant behaviors
  • Psychiatric disorders
  • Sleep disorders (nonrespiratory)
  • Why Use Telemedicine?

Children with autism and related disorders need quality care. But, many families do not have access to the care their child needs in their community.

Telemedicine uses a video camera to connect your child to specialists at Marcus Autism Center. This helps families with:

    • No specialist in the area
    • Long commutes to see specialists
    • Work schedule/appointment conflicts

Telemedicine helps your child get the care he needs without the long commute into Atlanta. This will lead to better treatment for your child—no matter where you live in Georgia.
